As one of 50 community college districts in Texas, ACC provides access to
high-quality education at affordable tuition rates and produces the backbone
of the local workforce. Among the largest and fastest growing two-year
colleges in the nation – ACC is home to more than 35,000 credit students,
2,350 faculty and staff, and seven full-service campuses with number eight
opening in 2010.
More area high school graduates and adults begin their college career at ACC than any other college or university. ACC is the primary trainer and re-trainer of the local workforce, the leading source of transfer students to area four-year universities, and the #1 college choice among Central Texans. ACC provides higher education services to eight counties in Central Texas. With more than 35,000 credit students enrolled, the ACC District ranks eighth largest in the nation among centralized colleges with multiple campuses. ACC holds classes at seven campuses, nine regional centers, and a variety of business and community locations. Austin Community College District is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097: Telephone number 404-679-4501) to award the associate degree. The College is recognized and sanctioned by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. It is a member of the American Association of Community Colleges and the Texas Association of Community Colleges. Several of the nursing and allied health programs are subject to national accreditation agency requirements. |
